SOFTGOODS
I like the freedom of working on softgoods, and the speed at which you can realize a design with some simple pattern work and a sewing machine.

I don't always document the work I do on my own time. It is tough to stop and take pictures when I'm just enjoying the process of creating.

CUT & SEW
BAG MAKING CLASS @ THE BROWN BUFFALO
What a totally rad week. I got to spend four days learning all the steps to sew a backpack and carry tote. The class is run by Doug Davidson, who is a complete wealth of knowledge with loads of experience in bag design.

The first three days each student built a BROWN BUFFALO Conceal backpack, and the last day we jammed out a tote. So much fun, and I really learned a lot.

bicycle Light mount

Literally spent about 1.5 hours on this from idea to photos. I wanted to make a light mount for a high-powered Milwaukee flood light for evening riding. Something minimal to match my single speed and easily removable.

I dug through a box of scrap fabric, webbing and velcro and stitched this up. Some denim from an old pair of jeans wrapped around some foam makes a soft interface to the stem cap.

Socket set holder

Not really my design, but I had seen one of these and I knew I had the material on hand to make one. I designed an adjustable pattern to make holders for different sized socket sets. My plan is to eventually make a holder for each socket set I own.

sewing machine cover

My first project when I got a proper needle-feed machine was to make a dust cover. I had some material and batting from other projects, so I matched the fabric with the white and blue JUKI colors. Polyester oxford cloth on the inside so it's easy to wipe off oil, white quilted canvas on the shell. Just a little shaping to make it less of a box on a complex machine.

WORK IN PROGRESS
Just some notes on paper, but hopefully soon to be a reality
